North Dakota's continuing education (CE) cycle is November 16th of one year through November 15th of the following year. The current CE cycle is November 16, 2020 through November 15, 2021. During a CE cycle, ND licensees, unless otherwise exempted, need to complete 9 hours of continuing education. During this CE cycle, there is NO mandatory topic that needs to be taken. All 9 hours of CE are elective and can any approved course. Continuing education courses are approved for 2 years so that the course provider does not have to go through the renewal process every year.
Forms to get CE courses approved are available at the appropriate link. A $50 non-refundable application fee must be submitted with each course application. Distance education courses must be certified by ARELLO.
Administrative Rule 70-02-04-14 states that the commission will allow a maximum of 8 hours of continuing education per licensee per day, whether that education was in the classroom or online.
Again, For the current CE cycle November 16, 2020 through November 15, 2021, there is NO mandatory course. All 9 hours of CE are elective.
